I went to my sister in laws bridal shower on Saturday. They did a great job of making it look beautiful. They had baby's breath flowers in these metal pails and succulents all around in pots. Instead of a wedding veil or crown, she sister made her this white feathered headdress with little wildflowers around the crown of her head. It so so beautiful...it was just her style. They had brunch food, which was so good, like fruit, Cinnamon rolls, breakfast casseroles, juice and muffins. I was in charge of a game and I made 60 lips and mustaches on a stick. It took two long nights to draw them, laminate them and cut them out and stick them on the sticks. (so dumb...I don't know why I make my life so complicated.) And then we did a he said/she said game with them and everyone had to hold up the lip or mustache to guess who said what. She got tons of presents...holy wow.
Sean
watched the kids while I was gone, so it was a nice break. I still need
to go find a blouse and necklace and shows to wear to the wedding. I'm
excited for Sean's family to get here from Idaho. I think we will go to
the beach and go swimming or go to Disney land! And then on Thursday we
are having a BBQ at Sean's parents' house and then we will sleep their
that night because the wedding is the next day and will will be making
the flower stuff all morning.
I'm
really worried because I went running on Saturday morning and I could
tell my knee didn't feel very good, but I thought it would loosen up,
but at mile 6.5 I felt a sharp pain, so I stopped...and when I tried to
walk I couldn't even bend it, it hurt so bad! I don't know what
happened. Ill try and go on some shorter runs this week and try to heal
it.
Today was the Boston marathon. There were two bombs that went off at the finish line!
They were pressure cooker bombs with nails inside. We were all very
shocked and the whole country came together to try and find the
terrorists. It all happened so fast. One day, they were asking for any
pictures that people took at the marathon, then next they showed
pictures of a backpack, then they had a picture of the two men they
thought might be responsible, but it was so hard to see their faces,
then a couple hours later, they had their names and faces. Tons of
people recognized them. Then we heard their was a cop killed at MIT in
Boston and somehow to cops found them and there was a huge shoot and run
with the boys throwing grenades and shooting, which ended with the
older brother dead and the younger brother got away. Then they
locked down Boston and the neighborhood mom is from! And no one could
leave their homes for 5 hours. They searched every house for the 19 year
old boy. But they didn't find him. Then when people were allowed out, a
man noticed blood on his boat in his backyard, and the boy was in the
boat, injured. They wanted to bring him in a live and they were worried
he might have a bomb on him so they waited a long time, but finally they
got him! Right now he is in the hospital and he was a throat bullet
wound. They are trying to find out what terrorist group he is apart of.
The two brothers were radical Muslims and they were of Russian descent.
Doug was listening to police scanners all day and updating us, so it was
a pretty intense day! But when they caught the boy, the whole City of
Boston was in the streets celebrating. It was pretty cool to watch.
Three people died in the bombing and about 200 injured, so people lost
both their legs!!! So sad that this kind of evil is amongst us.
