McKenzie is Born!

Here is the story: I went in for a 40 week appointment. They noticed that when the baby was stressed her heart rate dropped, which is really bad. They said I had to deliver her that day. I had to go straight to the hospital and get hooked an internal monitor that watched the babies heart rate. They broke my water and after two hours my contractions were not strong enough so they had to put me on Pitocin (a drug that makes contractions come). After two more hours, the contractions were too strong and they had to turn it off. An hour later the doctor arrived and said the baby was ready to come out. I pushed for fifteen minutes and she was born. It was incredible.

She was beautiful right when she was born. She had light blond hair (maybe a little red in it) and dark blue eyes. She was 20 in long and 7 lbs 10 oz. She is now at 7 13, which is awesome because most babies lose weight, no gain it. Mom drove up right when she heard I was going into the hospital and was there for the whole delivery. Sean was there also helping me through it all. He gave me a blessing right before, which comforted me greatly. Sean's parents flew in as soon as the heard the news and they were there on time. They were able to come in the room right after I had her. We stayed in the hospital for two days and came home Monday morning. Mom and Sean's parents were a great help! They filled our cupboards with food and got us everything that we needed. They helped clean, let me take naps and loved holding McKenzie. Mom helped me with feeding her. I was so glad she was there because I had no idea what I was doing. She sleeps really well and eats really well. We are so lucky for such a good baby. She is perfect in every way. Everyone prayed for us while we were in the hospital. I know that Heavenly Father was watching over us. He blessed my family so much. I am so grateful for my baby, her health and my health.
